Linux Systems Engineer (Remote)

What Will You Be Doing?
Oversee the architecture, development, testing, documentation, and engineering support for key production systems
Operate as a technical expert on infrastructure projects pertaining to Linux-based systems, storage, and virtualization.
Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to design strategic solutions and data services.
Maintain knowledge of best practices relating to disaster recovery, vulnerabilities and patch management, databases, networking, and new industry developments relating to future infrastructure planning.
Perform IT implementations, updates & patching, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation.
Suggest improvements based on technology, best practices, or changing requirements.
Provide regular management updates on advantages and potential opportunities for new technologies and automation.
Monitor and maintain compliance: PCI, PII, SOX, and other jurisdictional compliance sta
Help resolve complex IT issues in a Tier 3 capacity.
Skills, Knowledge, & Expertise Needed for the Job:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, related field, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience required.
5 years or more of experience implementing and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure solutions in an enterprise environment.
5+ years of experience in onprem containerization like Kubernetes.
Nice to have's
Experience in implementing and supporting Kafka, Grafana, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.

The compensation for this role considers a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location at which the position may ultimately be filled. At Everi, it is not typical for all individuals to be hired at or near the end of the range; compensation decisions depend on each case’s facts and circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $98,600 - $127,300 annually.
