Job Description

Trinity Cyber is a leading developer and provider of advanced cybersecurity technologies and services. Our breakthrough core technology can deeply, quickly, and precisely interrogate and transform Internet sessions, creating a family of products and services. As a secure edge, our system automatically identifies, neutralizes and transforms malicious Internet traffic in line and at line speed with granularity and precision beyond other cybersecurity technologies. As an API-driven file inspection platform, it delivers sub-second conviction results and metadata to third-party providers like email security and packet capture vendors. It can also deliver rapid file context and content to cybersecurity analysts. Our customers and go-to-market partners are growing and span multiple industries.

PRIMARY ROLE:

Trinity Cyber is looking for a Linux Systems Administrator and Puppet Engineer who will utilize advanced Linux concepts and automation tools to deploy, secure, monitor, and maintain a diverse ecosystem of privately hosted physical, virtual, and containerized appliactions and associated environments that support all aspects of Trinity Cyber’s business. The applications include Trinity Cyber proprietary software and many commercial or FOSS platforms such as CentOS/Alma, the ELK stack, TIG stack, Rocket.Chat, Jitsi, Atlassian suite, Nautobot, Jenkins, MinIO, Nginx, PostgreSQL, Redis and many more. Typical daily tasks include a mix of planning and design, executing on strategic efforts, and unplanned break/fix. Strategic work includes testing and applying minor application security patches, planning major transitions in platform (e.g. CentOS 7 to Alma 9) including all applicable application and automation platform adjustments, and evaluating and deploying new tools to support evolving business goals and product lines. This role can be performed remotely.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Advanced experience in Linux environments (CentOS/Alma) with a strong focus on automation through Foreman and Puppet supported by Python, Bash, PowerShell (for MS integration), and related tools.

Python as a preferred "go to" language for everything from small scripts to moderate applications.

Significant experience with Puppet including custom module development in Ruby and Foreman as an ENC.

SDLC including substantial experience collaborating through tooling such as git, Jira, Jenkins, BitBucket, and other related tools.

Familiarity with integrating Linux applications into Windows systems: AD/DNS/DHCP/NPS, and ADFS (typically with PowerShell through pywinrm).

Experience with networking concepts and debugging tools tcpdump/wireshark.

Excellent troubleshooting instincts and demonstrated use of rigorous processes for root cause identification.

Can operate in a closed environment without access to public cloud tools.

Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must possess the highest level of personal integrity, value team success over individual achievement, have the ability to contribute significantly to extending a culture of collaboration, both internally and externally, in order to maintain the superior reputation of Trinity Cyber - and enjoy having fun.
