Located atop San Francisco's famed Nob Hill at the corner of California and Powell streets, Stanford Court hotel is steps from the city's best dining, shopping, entertainment and cultural attractions. The hotel features 393 well-appointed rooms and suites, offering comfortable accommodations for leisure and business travelers in a prime location. With a storied history dating back nearly 140 years, Stanford Court sits on the historic site of renowned "Big 4" railroad mogul, university founder, and U.S. senator Leland Stanford's elaborate private mansion. Overview
Deliver and organize clean linen such as sheets and towels to assigned floors with carts and store it into the linen rooms properly. Ensure each linen closet rooms are stocked according to par level established.
Responsibilities
  • Report all shortages, damages, maintenance requests, problems and linen availability to manager.
  • Handle complaints by following the six step procedures, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and maintain the clean and orderly condition of the linen room; ensure security of all hotel property.
  • Organize and stock all clean hotel linen in designated areas, shelves.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/ standards.
  • Promote positive relations with guests and employees.
  • Maintain close liaison with laundry service company to ensure the service provided meets the hotel's standards.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
  • Monitor and maintain designated supply levels.
  • Receive and sort dirty linen and trash as required.
  • Coordinate pick up of cleaned hotel linen from laundry service company.
  • Complete inventory of hotel linens as assigned.
  • Remove substandard hotel linens from circulating inventory.
  • Turn over any lost and found items from guest rooms to Supervisor or designated person.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Inspect condition, charges and amount of cleaned hotel linen received from service company; resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.
  • Assist Laundry in sorting and documenting dirty hotel linens.
  • Complete the Laundry Control Log for all linen sent and received from subcontractor.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Qualifications
  • Take directions and follow through.
  • Experience in similar position.
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training.
  • Remain in stationary position for 5 hours throughout work shift.
  • Reach 6 feet.
  • Work cohesively with other staff members as part of a team.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
  • Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.
  • Understand and anticipate guests' service needs.
  • Fluency in job related English, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Exert physical effort in transporting 50 to 150 lbs laundry carts
  • Interact courteously and professionally with guests and staff members.
  • Previous guest relations training.
  • Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers in processing charges).
  • Ability to communicate in foreign language, preferably Chinese or Spanish.
  • Focus on details.
  • Ability to:
  • Provide legible communication and directions.
  • Be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly.
  • Perform job functions without constant direct supervision.
