Golden Queen Mining Company, LLC (the “Company”) is operating a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California.

The Company is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Light Vehicle Mechanic for its Soledad Mountain Project (the “Project”) in Mojave. The Mobile Maintenance Light Vehicle Mechanic will perform the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of the equipment including light trucks, UTV/ATV, Skid steer, and other types of equipment on site. Mechanics will also be responsible for the documentation, completion, and to keep current the maintenance logs for all repairs and parts used daily. This is a safety sensitive position.

This position reports to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Performs diagnosis, repair and/or replacement of parts on vehicles and equipment as directed to include, diesel, gasoline, transmissions, axles, rear ends, suspension systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and brake systems.
  • Complies with all safety policies, rules and regulations.
  • Determines nature/extent of repairs necessary to make vehicle/equipment safe and operable; advises users of possible causes of operating problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance inspections and services.
  • Updates and maintains service/repair records.
  • Maintains tools and equipment.
  • Acts on all work orders promptly.
  • Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field.
  • Ensures compliance with safety requirements as outlined by the company, along with those specified in OSHA and MSHA regulations pertaining to this position.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
  • Prioritizes and plans work procedures.
  • Ensures all work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion.
Requirements:
  • Ability to establish priority ordering of tasks necessary to complete tasks and convey these understandings and priorities to others.
  • 3 years’ experience in automotive repairs
  • Ability to cope with job stress while exhibiting patience and tact when dealing with others.
  • Ability to safely use tools and equipment with skill and efficiency, to perform heavy work for an extended period and to understand and carry out oral directions.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, methods and practices used to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic systems on a wide variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe and efficient vehicle maintenance practices
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with other departments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written.
  • Produce accurate work and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
