Job Description
Overview:
W. Lee Flowers is locally owned and operated! As a Stand Up Lift Truck Operator you will perform put-away and replenishment functions making product available for shipment. Observing all safety regulations and ensuring all quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duties assigned to best serve the company.


Pay starts at $16.30 / hour during training period

After successful completion of training pay is based on production and potential earnings up to $19.50 / hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Must be able to pass stand up lift truck operator’s qualification course.
  • Must be able to reach, lift, and stack cases ranging in weight from 1 to 100 pounds.
  • May be required to perform other task to include, but not limited to:
  • Responsible for following all training documents and procedures as it relates to Food Safety and Food Defense.
  • Must work in a safe manner adhering to all company safety guidelines.
  • Must work in a safe manner so as not to damage any product. If damage should occur, lift operator should clean up damage or call for a clean-up person immediately and report it to a supervisor.
  • May be required to do other tasks, as necessary.
  • Loading - Scan and confirm pallets onto the correct trailer and in the correct position. Check the quality of each pallet and report any issues such as damages and instability to the supervisor.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and turn in on a timely basis, as needed.
  • Obtain paperwork and documents necessary to perform needed job functions as needed.
  • Must maintain a minimum production rate of 95%.
  • Order Selection - Confirm picks by voice and use a scanner to enter random weight products. Stack cases of various shapes and weights on a pallet neatly and efficiently, fully hand wrap and tag pallets after completing each order and transport the pallets to the correct loading door.
  • Using a stand up lift truck, take product received to/from storage area and place into slot, overhead storage, or surplus storage as required. Rotate product and hand stack cases as necessary to ensure proper product rotation. Aid Order Selectors by retrieving and scanning pallets from upper-level reserve slots and placing them into lower-level pick slots. Scan the new location and confirm the pallets are placed into the correct pick slots.
  • Inspect Equipment daily to ensure it is proper working condition and update equipment inspection.
Qualifications:
  • Able to lift, stack, and/or pull products off shelves, as well as replenish product, from various heights weighing between 10-35 pounds and generally up to between approximately 100 pounds or more, depending on the location, throughout shift.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift.
  • Previous Stand Up Lift Truck experience is a plus.
  • Ability to maintain a minimum weekly productivity average of 155 cases/hour.
  • Able to work in multi-temperature environments, i.e., cooler, freezer and dry. Must pass post offer drug test.
  • Must be able to maintain a minimum weekly productivity average of 18 pallet moves/hour.
