Job Description

The Licensed Vocational Nurse as an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team, utilizes the nursing process to provide therapeutic care to employees and volunteers at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital. Delivers services that meet or exceed professional, organizational, community and regulatory standards and provides customer satisfaction.Provides clinical and administrative services for new hires, volunteers, and injured employees. Administers immunizations, PPD skin tests, N95 mask fit testing, annual health assessments, return to work clearances, and completes new employee health assessment and clearance. Actively involved in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Maintains well-organized and up-to-date record keeping systems while ensuring confidentiality of employee health records. Employee participates in a collaborative work environment as demonstrated through teamwork and effective communication.


Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Specialized/technical training Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing Program Minimum Skills: Demonstrates ability to effectively work with physicians, staff, and patients. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word as well as Internet access and utilization. Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive situations and confidential information Able to make decisions effectively and with appropriate stakeholder input Required Certifications: Licensed Vocational Nurse - LVN (CA DCA) Valid California Vocational Nursing license Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association Preferred Experience: 2 years Experience in a surgical care, acute care or ambulatory care setting.
