Licensed Massage Therapist Jobs

Role and Responsibilities

Massage therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the soft-tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help rehabilitate injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.

• Confer with clients about their medical histories and problems with stress or pain to determine how massage will be most helpful.
• Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used.
• Respond to clients’ comments and suggestions in a timely and professional manner
• Perform therapeutic massages of soft tissues and joints. May assist in the assessment of range of motion and muscle strength, or propose client therapy plans.
• Provide clients with guidance on stretching, strengthening, overall relaxation, how to improve their posture, and body mechanics
• Document client’s condition and progress

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education:

• Valid California Massage License
• 1 years in massage therapy recommended.
• High school diploma or GED
• CPR/AED certification

AND

• Experience: Two years of professional experience in direct patient care in the mental health field, particularly with victims of trauma.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $70.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• 4 hour shift
