Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262

Hendrick Defense is seeking a highly motivated and talented Level 1 Junior Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in assisting with the development and implementation of innovative design solutions. You will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel, to contribute to the creation of advanced products and systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research to gather relevant technical data and information to support design decisions.
  • Support the development and testing of prototypes, documenting findings, and providing feedback.
  • Assist in creating detailed technical drawings, 2D/3D models, and specifications using Siemens NX and Teamcenter software.
  • Assist in performing engineering calculations as needed.
  • Assist with the documentation and maintenance of design files and records.
  • Participate in product design reviews and contribute ideas for design improvements.
  • Work within an ISO and PPAP quality domain.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate materials and components for the design.
  • Feel comfortable with a dynamic and fast-paced, highly variable business.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to understand project requirements and design objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • FEA experience specifically with Ansys a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and creativity in design solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to confidential information. Employer will require proof of status prior to employment.
  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Previous internships or project experience in Motorsports, Defense, or Automotive fields is a plus.
  • Familiarity with engineering principles and design fundamentals.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
