Level II Technician


POSITION: Level II Technician


LOCATION: Rialto, CA Repair Lab


PURPOSE: The Level II Technician position is a full-time, non-exempt position responsible for supporting Repair Operations to ensure an organized and timely process for completing repair production orders and projects.


SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: This position utilizes broad and comprehensive experience, skills and knowledge. The Level II Technician position's primary role is to test, troubleshoot and repair to component level customer and company owned products. In addition to maintaining the highest of Quality standards while achieving performance goals for the Repair Team.


Key Accountabilities


Technician Duties:


  • Work with Engineers and senior level techs to gain knowledge and skills
  • Replacing parts using soldering tools
  • Work with Engineers when needed on new development or improvements for existing
  • Must be able to maintain high levels of quality and on time performance of product lines assigned to you
  • Troubleshoot and Repair to component level
  • Accurately consume component repair parts from inventory
  • Perform configuration and fault management


Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required


  • Should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks to completion
  • Excellent through hole and surface mount soldering skills
  • Ability to use functional and situational reasoning
  • Proven ability to test and troubleshoot various types of electronic circuit boards
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in board-level and multi-layer board repair of telecommunications systems
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible with job duties and scope of work
  • Understanding of 24V and 48V power systems
  • Minimum 2-year Electronics degree, equivalent certification or equivalent job experience in electronics or technical role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively balancing multiple concurrent assignments
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in similar role
  • Experienced in repair lab equipment and techniques
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team

Physical Demands


  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling of boxes, as well as frequent movement (walking) throughout the lab.
  • Access information on the computer
  • Ability to perform tasks involving moderately heavy objects (20 to 95 pounds)


As a Level II Technician, you will occasionally be called upon to perform other duties not included in this job description. If at any time your job duties vary significantly from those defined in this job description, you must immediately notify your supervisor or the Human Resources department.


This position will work as a liaison between sister companies, management and employees to facilitate work and accomplish objectives in a collaborative effort. This position will report to the Rialto Repair Operations Manager.


This position requires employee to maintain cooperative, diplomatic working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the public; work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues; complete projects under tight deadlines, even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
