Scope
We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development Manager to be an integral part of the People & Culture team. This company-wide resource will be responsible for creating and executing training programs to support the development of all Spiegelworld employees. The ideal candidate will be fun loving, dynamic, and have a passion for developing people within a fast-paced, ever-changing, colorful organization. This position requires strong time management and customer service skills as well as an acute awareness of the importance and value of a continuous learning culture. This position reports directly to the Director of People & Culture and is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, with travel required as needed to business locations.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure training programs are conducted aligned with and reinforce standard operating procedures.
  • Thoroughly prepare for each learning event (in-person or virtual) and demonstrate a mastery of content.
  • Promote and inform employees about all training programs and act as subject matter expert on company culture and leadership development resources.
  • Integrate a learning and development strategy with other HR-sponsored programs as a key element of talent management (e.g., talent acquisition, performance, talent review).
  • Partner with operational leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills for their roles.
  • Help drive company culture and ensure all training and development activities are strategically linked to the organization's pillars.
  • Monitor enrollment and attendance of training classes and record attendance in HCM system.
  • Establish metrics that measure the success of training programs, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions to improve training program effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistency in the quality of training programs, initiatives, and materials across the organization.
  • Create an environment that enables maximum learning of each group keeping in mind the various learning styles represented, as well as for any special needs that could affect the learning.
  • Identify performance gaps and work with managers to develop and implement appropriate training to improve performance.
  • Lead the development, creation and delivery of learning curricula to ensure our quirkforce has essential knowledge and skills to grow in their roles while effectively impacting business success and reinforcing our culture.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your manager.
  • Work directly with People & Culture and Operations Leaders to drive compliance for all required training.
Requirements
  • Acts with integrity and always maintains confidentiality.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong adherence to company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Five or more years of experience with hands-on design, development and/or delivery of successful training programs with an understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design concepts.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, creative, and ever-changing organization.
  • Experience facilitating training to all levels of staff from line level to executive audiences on hard and soft skills.
  • Passion for developing teams and people within a growing and changing business.
  • Degree in Training, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field with experience in learning, leadership or talent development.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word as well as Google apps and learning management systems. Experience with UKG is a plus.
  • Proven success in the design, development, and implementation of learning and development programs with a working knowledge of e-learning software.
  • Ability to manage training projects from analysis to evaluation, including the ability to effectively and successfully manage competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.
  • Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, analytical skills/problem solving.
