Job Summary


This position will be responsible for assisting the Office of Continuous Improvement (OCI) Administrator, Senior Lean Project Managers, the Lean Consultant and Executive staff in establishing and sustaining a lean management system for the entire agency.


The position will utilize a structured approach to identify and eliminate non value added process steps agency wide and make recommendations to integrate lean methods into the overall continuous improvement strategy of the agency.


This position will serve as a subject matter expert in process improvement methodologies, lead high visibility Lean projects and provide mentor-ship, coaching, and training to DCS employees.


This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties


  • Assist in examining current processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and lead teams through collaborative process to improve service and productivity while reducing redundancy, time and excess resources. Assist in identifying, developing and maintaining metrics to measure success.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of the Business Improvement Program for the agency, participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of technology, tools, and infrastructure for monitoring performance measures and other data inducing performance reports and visual management tool.
  • Support deployment of the Arizona Management System and Lean through general learning of the Lean management concepts and address/triage questions from various levels of employees.
  • Work with all functional disciplines and organizational levels in determining and executing events and project schedules that support the achievement of Agency strategic goals and objectives. Organize, lead and facilitate cross functional teams for implementing events and projects agency wide.
  • Develop, maintain, and publish project status reports to communicate project progress, status, and risks. Upload project documentation and submit status reports as required. Serve as the central point of contact for project communications or questions. Develop and deliver presentations as requested regarding project progress and updates.

Selective Preference(s)


Bachelor's Degree in any field. Excellent communications skills. Strong desire to learn and deploy Lean.


Pre-Employment Requirements


The ability to secure and maintain a Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
