Job Description
The Lead Video Editor possesses the technical skills, narrative and visual storytelling understanding, and industry standard knowledge necessary to bring broadcast TV commercials and externally facing short form branded video content to life in the edit. Responsibilities include editing advertising video content, including broadcast TV commercials and branded short form content. Additional responsibilities include helping define and oversee all aspects of post-production, including: media asset management, archival, broadcast and online video distribution, and some post-supervision and post-producing work.
Minimum Requirements:
BA, BS, or BFA in film/video production required, or relevant commensurate professional video editing experience in an Editor role; Coursework in marketing, advertising, and communication is a plus
5+ years' experience as a full-time professional Editor (not including Assistant Editor experience)
Experience editing narrative short form video content and broadcast TV commercials, specifically: TV commercials, branded content, narrative short films, mini docs
Additional skills and experience:
Expert with professional NLE software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, and Final Cut Pro X
Audio editing and sound design knowledge is a plus; ability to perform basic audio clean-up, sweetening, initial rough sound design, and review mix. Familiarity with Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, and iZotope RX Post Production Suite is a plus
Ability to prep projects to be sent out for post audio, color, and VFX finishing
Ability to perform final conform and delivery of broadcast commercials and web video projects
Familiarity with industry standard post-production procedures, best practices, techniques, etiquette, and terminology
Working knowledge of online video hosting cloud platforms such Brightcove Video Cloud and YouTube
Strong knowledge of digital video media asset management, including creating and defining file nomenclature, folder structure, and taxonomy in-line with industry standard best practices; knowledge of RAID configurations, Facilis HUB, or other MAM storage solutions, and Teradici/HP Anywhere, and Amulet Hotkey remote edit solutions is a plus
Proficient with industry standard video review workflow; in-person and virtual, and electronic file sharing platforms: Frame.io and WeTransfer
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal, and visual
Strong management, organizational, and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Some travel may be required to go on location for production shoots, supervised editorial/post-production, and media asset management needs
Experience with trailers and feature length work is a plus

Pay Range
$74,149.92 - $122,107.44
Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility.
