Position: Lead Strategy & Planning Consultant


Location:Charlotte, NC, 28202


Term: 6 months


Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Work across functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of programs, services and initiatives.
  • Make decisions in complex and multifaceted situations requiring solid understanding of business group's functional area or products, facilitate decision making and issue resolution, and support implementation of developed solutions and plans.
  • Make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Support a team of lead program managers to manage complex regulatory initiatives, track progress, create reporting, craft communications, and collaborate across a variety of functions at the bank.
  • Perform assessments through fact finding and data requiring creative approaches to solving complex issues, and develop appropriate solutions or recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced staff. Evaluate and approve process of identified opportunities.
  • Influence, guide and lead less experienced Strategy and Execution staff within the group.
  • Partner with executive management across to define the business strategy and create then execute corresponding business plans and initiative.
  • Communicative strategy and related business plans to management.
  • Drive accountability for assigned initiatives, limit risk exposure, and create efficiencies as appropriate.
  • Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale planning.
  • Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations.
  • Review and analyze complex larger-scale or longer-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
  • Represents on Industry boards and committees.
  • Collaborate and consult with members of the Business Execution team and team leaders to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate strategically and consult with all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals.
  • Identify strategic business investments and alliance opportunities.


Is this a good fit? (Requirements):
  • 5+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • 5+ years of Management Consulting, Strategy Consulting, or Business Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Less interested in people who have worked on solely Compliance teams, doing Compliance work within the project is not a bad thing however
  • Lot of Excel work, Pivot tables, navigating complex data sets, data clean up
  • People who have owned and have seen things end to end
  • Consulting experience, any of the big 4 is a plus
  • 7+ years experience
  • Lot of Deck creation
  • Experience within financial services is required
  • Being able to operate in the grey, things change often so cant always be told what to do, a go-getter
  • Not necessarily client facing but the team supports many so the person needs to have strong verbal skills and can handle all kinds of feedback
  • Risk and Control self-assessment experience, regulatory program implementation, someone who has executed things


Desired Qualifications:
  • Big 4 consulting experience
  • Change management experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PPT, Teams)
  • Regulatory compliance experience
  • Project management, execution, and implementation skills
