Illinois Residency Requirement: This position requires Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date.
The University Marketing and Communications Department is currently accepting applications for the role of Lead Graphic Designer (Marketing Associate) to provide creative guidance, design and production for a full range of high-level print and digital/interactive communications. This role consults with the internal team, Creative Director, and clients to accomplish objectives and creates high-level communication and design solutions while staying within budget and meeting deadlines. The Lead Graphic Designer assists in establishing and maintaining brand guidelines, monitors the usage of wordmarks and logos, including approvals. The Lead Graphic Designer will be responsible for concept ideation and producing and performing creative presentations. Additionally, this position writes project specifications (format, paper, special processes) for vendor estimates and printing orders, helps manage project flow and meets deadlines.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field,
Six years experience in graphic design at a senior designer level, including: creating, presenting and executing visual concepts, ad campaigns and high-level printed communications such as viewbooks and annual reports.
High-level of experience working with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop as well as PowerPoint, concept ideation and producing and performing creative presentations.
Exceptional visual messaging and communications skills.
Knowledgeable about marketing concepts including information gathering for creative briefs and setting goals based on client objectives and University strategic plan.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred.
