Wachter’s Irvine, CA local business unit is accepting applications for Low Voltage Lead Project Technicians for long and short-term projects in Phoenix, AZ. Candidate should have experience leading jobs with data, voice, alarm, video, and paging systems.

Requirements:


  • Ability to work in cramped spaces.
  • Industry-specific certifications are a huge plus (BICSI, Siemon, Panduit, Belden, Corning).
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician with CAT5e, fiber optic, and network experience.
  • Ability to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.
  • Knowledgeable in closeouts and MDF/IDF buildouts.
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
  • Ability to work primarily nights, and day shifts when the job requires.
  • Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.
  • Knowledgeable in identifying independent colors and learning color codes.
  • Proficient with the use of smartphones,personal computers, including email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge and experience with CCTV, Security Systems, and Alarm Systems is a plus.
  • Flexible and willing to work on-call, day or night shifts as the jobs require.
  • Experience in conduit installation is a plus.
  • Available for extensive travel, road warrior.
  • Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling.
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
Responsibilities:


  • Installing of cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
  • Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
  • Repairing cable poles and towers.
  • Provide regular updates to Project Management on project status and current objectives.
  • Operational.
  • Lead small crews of 2-8 technicians by providing daily instruction and training, as needed.
  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various cabling infrastructure.
  • Installation of IP cameras, specifically Axis.
  • Conduit work.
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed cables systems and component devices are
  • Adhere to all required project safety requirements as set forth by Wachter, our customers, or OSHA.
  • Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to safety regulations.
