Job Summary
The Lead Buyer is responsible for assisting with the coordination and purchasing of materials, equipment and supplies of the organization taking into consideration cost, quality, and production time constraints. These products are to be secured at a cost, quality, and lead time consistent with company requirements, policies, and performance standards. The Lead Buyer is also responsible for and assisting with performing and reporting out on assigned analytical tasks.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support and assist the Sr. Category Buyer with supplier management
  • Analyzing data needed to execute safety stocks and liabilities
  • Syteline Maintenance
  • Assist as needed with inventory management and warehouse activities (cycle counts, receiving and inspection)
  • Audit procurement employees annually with follow up training as needed
  • Supplier quality and issue resolutions
  • Quoting new projects
  • Analyze and report out on assigned data
  • Maintain supplier data such as supplier adds, lead times, payment terms and contact information
  • Train new procurement employees as needed
  • Category risk assessments
  • Support the accounts payable team to address and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Assist with supplier selection, quality management and scorecards
  • Cost reduction
  • Support and assist the Buyers as needed
  • Travel as needed
  • Pricing and contract negotiations

Knowledge & Skills
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely
  • Procurement of cosmetic or personal care packaging is strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing background helpful
  • Ability to research problems, identify, propose, and lead solutions
  • Work with minimum supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel strongly preferred
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills needed
  • Ownership and initiative
  • Analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Exceptional customer service skills - many c-suite and customer interactions
  • Understanding of Windows based programs /Microsoft Word/ Microsoft Excel
Education/Experience
  • Six Sigma or Lean experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of procurement and/or supply chain experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
Physical/Mental Demands
  • Regularly/Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly/Frequently use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate tools
  • Occasionally/Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and, infrequently, up to 50 pounds
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle many urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone

In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, we are disclosing the compensation range for roles that will be, or could be, performed in Colorado. Compensation for similar positions located outside of Colorado may differ.
If performed in Colorado, the base salary for this position generally ranges between $65,000 - $75,000. This salary range may vary based on relevant factors including but not limited to experience, education, performance, scope of responsibilities, location and other considerations permitted by law.
