About This Role
We are seeking a highly experienced skilled lead AI/ML engineer, bioinformatics to join our dynamic and innovative AI/ML team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build ML model for target identification, AI-driven next generation vaccines design and drug discovery. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in AI/ML, and hands-on experience in developing and implementing bioinformatic workflow and data analytics pipeline. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding AI/ML, computational biology and apply the technology to design the next generation vaccines and medicine. Initially, you will develop innovative pipeline to track, analyze and predict rapidly evolution of human pathogen.
Responsibility
  • Design and implement reproducible AI/ML and data analytic frameworks, computational methods that can transform the high-dimensional biological data into actionable findings and research insights.
  • Identify relevant public datasets and strategies to augment growing internal database of multimodal high-dimensional datasets.
  • Develop AI/ML model to predict the circulating human pathogen’s evolution and mutation effect.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in vaccines R&D with data-driven approach.
  • Apply latest research in machine learning for medicine and implement these novel research concepts to build predictive and practical models to accelerate vaccines pre-clinical and clinical research.
  • Apply structural biology/bioinformatics expertise to develop state-of-the-art approach/technology for the analysis of protein/RNA structural to enhance its desired functionality.
  • Design and build genomics, epidemiological data analytics pipeline to track the prevalence of the emerging human pathogens.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • PhD or Master's in computer science, computer engineering, bioinformatics with 5 years of post-doc experience (or MS in one of these fields with 8+ years of related experience) in a fast-paced environment including designing, developing, and implementing bioinformatics workflow/pipeline and data analytics.
  • Super problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to propose creative and efficient solutions.
  • Independent, self-motivated, innovative, and able to excel in a goal-oriented, multifaceted, and fast-moving team environment are required.
  • Knowledge of deep learning techniques, such as, CNN, RNN, autoencoder, backpropagation, transformers/large language model.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to optimally communicate technical findings with stakeholders.
  • Strong background in machine learning and statistical modeling techniques.
Preferred Qualification
  • Expertise in deep sequencing and analysis of immune repertoires, including experimental and/or bioinformatic methods.
  • Familiar with transformer/Large language model with hands-on experience of developing or applying predictive models in health care industry.
  • Expertise in structural biology, including structural determination of proteins and/or modeling protein structures and interactions.
  • Experience/knowledge of antibody and/or small molecule drug discovery, developability, and validation.
  • Proficient with agile development process and GIT source control.
  • Experience implementing production solution within a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in developing or optimizing vaccine platforms for infectious diseases, especially lipid nanoparticles, mRNA, viral vectors, and other advanced delivery platforms.
