Data Scientist/Ml Intern

Nanite is a disruptive Machine Learning/AI therapeutics company focused on revolutionizing drug delivery. The research intern will be in a fast-paced start-up environment playing a crucial technical role in generating insights and vehicle chemistries using machine learning.

Essential Functions and Duties

Structure and analyze natural language data from literature using state-of-the-art NLP models and APIs.

Generate suggestions and insights for new drug delivery vehicle chemistries.

In collaboration with ML scientists, adapt existing predictive models to new chemistries and down-select vehicles of interest.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define chemistry and biology requirements and design NLP and modelling approaches required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

MS/PhD student in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, or a related discipline with 2 years hands-on machine learning experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·Track record developing statistical and machine learning models for complex and unconventional real-life problems.

·Strong mathematical and coding skills.

·Experience doing research and working with interdisciplinary teams.

·Interest in applications of machine learning in biotechnology.

·Working knowledge of Python, ML packages (pytorch, scikit-learn, tensorflow, jax), SQL.

·Experience with NLP and web scrapping from public data sources.

Additional Preferred Experience (desired, but not essential):

·Experience in an industry setting.

·Experience with computational chemistry and computational biology databases, data structures and modelling packages.

Working Conditions

Computer and modeling work required

Intern must be either from Massachusetts, be attending a college or university in Massachusetts or a HBC.

Nanite is based in the Boston Seaport district.
