- Plan and implement skills development/training/capacity building for nutrition technical staff including developing and reviewing training materials and rolling out Nourishing the Youngest Common Approach.
- Provide senior level technical expertise and oversight to ensure programs apply evidence-based nutrition interventions and approaches.
- Help define SC’s global advocacy agenda to address key agency priorities around nutrition; provide technical expertise to policy and advocacy related efforts with a nutrition focus on global campaigns.
- Be accountable for achieving results set out in strategic plan and be able to articulate sector approaches to measuring global results and monitoring progress toward agreed upon results.
- Develop and support new state-of-the-art approaches.
- Work with country offices and other teams to integrate nutrition into other program areas, especially into reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health, emergency health and nutrition, livelihoods, and early childhood development.
- With the Nutrition Managing Director, represent Department of Global Health internally and externally on specific nutrition technical topics with donors, academic institutions, and technical assistance organizations.
- Provide technical support to developing global nutrition strategies and initiatives.
- With the Nutrition Managing Director, participate in setting the vision and goals for the Nutrition portfolio, engaging other colleagues, departments, and country offices.
- Provide technical assistance to country and global nutrition projects to ensure high quality and effective programs to achieve results at scale.
- Play a leadership in identifying, developing and submitting quality proposals in nutrition, health, and food security.
- Establish and maintain new/existing relationships with key donors and program partners to advance global nutrition sector work.
- Collaborate with fundraising teams to develop long-term funding strategies for SC’s technical and programming priorities in nutrition.
- Support monitoring and evaluation including data interpretation for program management and proposal development, and documentation of project innovations and impact.
- Identify, document, and share best practices from country programs and global work, introduce new evidence-based best practices, and disseminate and promote uptake.
- Articulate key nutrition program innovation and learning priorities, especially related to key gaps in the evidence base for programming, and steps needed to inform policy and translate policy into practice at scale.
- Contribute to key donor deliverables including management plans, annual work plans, donor reports, monitoring and evaluation plans, and ad hoc requests for USAID and other donor-funded projects.
- Contribute to training and coaching of country nutrition leads and allocating resources during proposal development.
- Oversee and coordinate project activities with country project teams and SC offices.
- Ensure high quality program management through regular monitoring and oversight of program activities.
- Collaborate with SC entities on technical matters.
- Previous experience with USAID and other global donors.
- Demonstrated successful experience coaching, leading, and developing staff.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated experience in international nutrition programming, with emphasis on maternal and child nutrition, including at least 3 years working in developing countries.
- Proven track record in developing effective and responsive project proposals.
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, plus at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Experience in multi-sectoral nutrition and community management of acute malnutrition programming.
- Knowledge of and experience in food security and nutrition sensitive programming.
- Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $107,950 – $120,650 base salary.
- Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $131,750 – $147,250 base salary
- Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $119,850 – $133,950 base salary
