Lactation Consultant - Labor And Delivery

Provides and plans safe age specific nursing care for patients, families related to lactation services.

Patient care, assessment. Lactation program operations.

Communication and collaboration. Leadership. Involved in learning and self improvement. Age specific knowledge. Knowledge of needs of antepartum and postpartum mother. Experience in assisting breastfeeding mothers, particularly in the inpatient setting. Evidence of ongoing continuing education and professional development. Uses selected technical (lactation) and office equipment, e.g., fax, computer, telephone to meet patient and family needs.

Lactation Educator training program completion with current certification. IBCLC Certification required or meets eligibility requirements to sit for the IBCLC exam. Must sit for IBCLC exam & pass within 12 months of hire.
