POSITION OVERVIEW

A Laborer is responsible for assisting in the resort with maintenance repairs and improvements. This position requires an eye for design which will guarantee the beauty and functionality of our resort and also ensure the safety and satisfaction of all our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Assist engineers with assigned tasks and projects
  • Maintain all vehicles and keep up-to-date maintenance logs for insurance purposes
  • Demolition and clean-up during special projects
  • Work closely with other departments
  • Provide parts runners and material handling, property-wide
  • Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report every 6 months and Immediately notify the department leader of any changes to the Nevada Driver’s License status
  • Responsible for trash removal and general clean-up
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary
  • Stock engineering supplies, shops, tool room
  • Transportation and delivery of propane tanks to different venues
  • Direct support to other departments in moving furniture
  • Driving to off-site locations when necessary

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; be able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail
  • Polished appearance and demeanor
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends
  • Experience using hand tools and utility knives
  • At least one (1) year experience as a laborer or similar role, preferably for a large, luxury resort/casino
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of Company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, Members, and other outside contacts
  • Maintain a clean DMV record
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from Members and/or guests
  • Experience using two-way radio

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls. The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.

The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
