Job Description

The County of Riverside seeks candidates to fill positions throughout Riverside County. A list of eligible candidates will be established to fill current and future vacancies.

The County of Riverside's Transportation and Land Management Agency is seeking multiple Laborers who will be assigned to Highway Operations in Riverside.



The incumbent will assist in regular roadside and highway cleanup along County-maintained roads/highways. In addition, the selected candidate will assist in the cleaning of the catch basins and culverts within road right-of-ways.



The Transportation Department desires candidates who have experience with light equipment, for example, hand-held tools and construction equipment, such as, line trimmers, handsaws, wheelbarrows and post-hole diggers.
Highly competitive candidates will will posses knowledge and experience in road/highway maintenance, recycling at landfill sites and waste management. Experience will also include operating trucks, for example, attaching and hauling a trailer; loading/unloading trucks/trailers and using heavy equipment, such as, chainsaws, Skid Steer Loaders, Backhoe Loaders, etc.

The majority of the position's responsibilities will involve working outdoors in inclement or harsh weather conditions (rain, wind and Summer temperatures exceeding 115 degrees Fahrenheit).
