Physical Requirements
Moving and lifting object from floor to above shoulders up to 25 pounds. Standing and sitting at computer terminals and laboratory bench completing repetitive tasks for extensive periods of time. Working with materials requiring personal protective equipment in accord with EH&S policy.

Shift
Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Job Summary
Our laboratory is interested in exploring the metabolic effects of the E4 isoform of apolipoprotein E (apoE), a major genetic risk factor for both cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease. The successful applicant will be expected to be highly organized, able to demonstrate the ability to generate experimental data, to have strong English speaking, writing and communication skills, and to be a team player.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Proficient and IACUC compliant small animal care; Basic lab skills, (e.g., pipetting); basic computer skills (e.g., MS windows, excel).

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No

Preferred Education/Experience
BA/BS degree in a related field plus two or more years related experience in a research laboratory including mouse husbandry preferred.
