The Laboratory Technician carries out various procedures pertaining to the analysis of precious metal, base metal and environmental samples. The employee will prepare required assay reports and maintain various quality control charts. The Lab Technician also maintains the work area in clean and safe working condition.

The responsibilities of the laboratory technician include but are not limited to:

• Maintain lab area clean and orderly
• Report all hazard and quality issues to supervisor
• Use personal protective equipment when required
• Prepare acid solutions required for analytical work
• Perform routine analysis of various metallic and semi-metallic samples
• Maintain, calibrate and operate various analytical equipment
• Maintain lab records and fill-out assay reports

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associates degree in Science field preferred
• Strong math skills required
• Basic computer skills required
• Minimum of 1 year previous lab experience in inorganic analytical lab

Lab Technician must have the ability to follow written laboratory procedures without deviation. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (half-mask respirator, plastic apron, neoprene gloves, chemical splash goggles). Ability to handle hazardous material safely and responsibly.
