Cytogenetics

The Laboratory Assistants are responsible for transporting specimens throughout the facility, performing appropriately requested processing on all types of clinical laboratory specimens, including accessioning, specimen sorting, triaging, and aliquoting. General administrative work will be part of daily activities. Complete training will be provided however the ability to learn quickly is paramount to a Laboratory Assistant’s success. Strong organizational and critical thinking skills are required.

High School Diploma or GED required. Prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving area preferred. Experience in a high-volume clinical laboratory preferred.
