Lab Tech (Mychoice Hrd)

Myriad Genetics is looking for a Lab Tech to join our myChoice® HRD lab team. Myriad myChoice® HRD is a next generation sequencing-based in vitro diagnostic test that assesses tumor genomic instability and detects and classifies sequence variants and large rearrangements in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. It is a FDA approved test and highly regulated laboratory running samples from various locations around the world. The schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday 10:30am-6:30pm MST. Saturday shift hours can be adjusted/is flexible.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the laboratory’s quality assurance plan, adhering to quality control and preventive maintenance policies and appropriately documenting these activities.
• Operating high performance liquid handling robots.
• Complying with the laboratory’s technical, administrative and safety policies and procedures.
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Actively participating in successful and timely completion of training and competency assessment as outlined in the laboratory and departmental training programs.
• Participating in continuing education according to accepted laboratory standards.
• Working as part of a team to produce repeatable quality results.
• Maintaining a clean and organized laboratory space.

Qualifications

• Due to the nature of the tests extensive documentation skills are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory/medical technology science.
• Requires good attention to detail.
• Requires the ability to adapt to change efficiently.
• Experience with automated robot platforms preferred but not necessary.
• Some experience with excel sheets is required.
• Having good pipetting skills is beneficial.
• Good communication skills are a must.
