Lab Assistant (Part-Time) (Biology)

Job Responsibilities

The Division of Natural Sciences is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant for the biology program. This position is in person and travels between campuses and available for the summer courses.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Receiving and adequately storing materials and equipment
• Setting up experiments for Biology lab classes according to the lab schedule
• Assisting in hazardous waste removal
• Maintaining an inventory of supplies
• Ensuring a safe, organized work environment for employees and students

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Preferred applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field. Applicants with an associate degree or a high school diploma plus two (2) years of related work experience will also be considered. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have a valid SC driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written directions are a must. Exceptional communication skills are a must. Demonstrating a safe environment is essential.
