We aspire to aid the growth of our company by welcoming the most qualified and deserving candidates aboard. Optima is currently seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals.


Job Responsibilities


  • Performs miscellaneous support duties as defined by the department.
  • Participates in detecting and documenting occurrences that deviate from defined procedures
  • Tracks and locates missing specimens
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the computer systems used in the laboratory
  • Active in training and competency of laboratory personnel.
  • Processes and prepares patient samples as required.
  • Focuses on quality by ensuring that all work performed is accurate, complete and performed within the time frames defined by the department


Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous clinical laboratory experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and handling.
  • Successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.
