Overview of Position

It is the mission and intent of the Barback that the incumbent will provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, to ensure the guest experience is one that is beyond the expectations of the guest and aligned with our Legendary Quality Experiences. Responsibilities of the Barback include servicing our guests according to Mandarin Oriental standards; following beverage policies and procedures; preparing the bar; stocking the bar; maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar; and maintaining beverage, liquor and cash accountability. TIPs and ServSafe certification is preferred.

The Barback reports directly to the Food & Beverage Managers.

Requirements

• Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in a luxury setting.

• Able to work together with other colleagues.
• Maintain a clean and healthy personal hygiene and grooming.
• Have a pleasant, friendly and helpful manner.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Able to handle guest requests in a detailed manner.
• Able to consistently delight and satisfy our guest.
• Able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
• Work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including morning, afternoon, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation.
