Your Role.

The Bear Creek School is currently seeking to add a member to our food services team! The Kitchen Staff assists with the preparation and service of food for the students, faculty and staff of the school; and assists with the maintenance of the kitchen.

We are seeking an individual who will…

• Prepare food for the bistro sandwich and salad station.
• Stock coolers and deli-case with beverages, pre-prepared foods, and items requiring refrigeration.
• Serve food during lunch service hours.
• Store food in warmers and perform temperature checks.
• Pre-heat cooking equipment as needed.
• Shut down cooking equipment.
• Serve students and staff during lunch service.
• Prepare and set out breakfast foods.
• Prepare daily hot entrees.
• Prepare pre-ordered sandwiches and salads.
• Tentative Schedule 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. weekdays based on annual school schedule. Some additional hours possible for special events based on availability.
• Assisting with kitchen use of software for communicating with vendors, within school, and food tracking.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Assisting with special event food preparation, serving, and clean up.
• Preparation, service, and clean up for special events.
• Stocking food orders.
• Familiarity with and utilization of some software programs for kitchen functions.
• Clean trays, dishes, towels and any equipment used in the preparation and service of food.
• General cleanup of kitchen and washing of kitchen items.
• Check menus and help with food orders.
• Cool and store left-over foods.
• Interaction with students, staff, faculty, and others during the day.
• General food service activities including but not limited to; food prep, cooking, set up, serving, and cleanup.
• Other tasks per kitchen manager.

Experience and Skills:

Required Experience and Education.

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. No sponsorship is available for this position
• Currently held CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (with Epinephrine Auto Injector supplement included), or arrangements made to obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date
• Food Handling permit (required within 30 days of employment)
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License with good driving record

You must meet the following physical requirements.

• Requires standing for long periods of time
• Requires some heavy lifting and carrying
• Ability to reach high and low shelves
• Requires fine finger dexterity
