Junior Trader / Analyst Jobs

The Role:

We are seeking a Junior Trader / Analyst to join OC Investment Management. You will need to have a deep interest in financial markets, and some background knowledge of Fixed Income is preferred.

We are a tight-knit team - you will work closely with the Traders / Portfolio Managers, and have a no task too small mentality. You will be involved across all aspects of the business, but primarily you will support the portfolio management team. In the role, you will work with the other parties on trade bookings, data analysis and reports. You will create strong relationships across internal/external stakeholder groups and be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.

What You’ll Do:

·Responsibility for risk analytics processes, looking for ways to further automate and improve the risk checks and reports. Help to ensure adherence to various risk limits

·Understand and analyze the firms’ risk and P&L, check and report risk and P&L

·Build upon current trade analytics processes and spreadsheets, with an eye towards further systematization

·Assist with the firms’ repo funding process, work to ensure allocations are logical and optimal

·Support the Portfolio Management / Operations teams on trade bookings and overall blotter management; appropriately allocate trades and ensure allocations are appropriate on an ongoing basis

·As you exhibit a strong and high level of understanding of the trades and the book, you will execute trades and contribute to idea generation in the book

·Contribute and solve for automation and tooling wherever possible in reducing risk and gaps

What You Need:

·Ability to support portfolio management team (and other stakeholders) in a dynamic environment; 1-4 years’ experience

·Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills, effective communication, and presentations skills

·Strong understanding of financial markets and various Fixed Income products, including sovereign debt, futures, swaps and options

·Knowledge of various risk and reporting metrics applicable to a Fixed Income hedge fund

·Self-manageable with intellectual curiosity seeking best possible solutions wherever possible

·A desire to see any task through to the finish expediently

·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task with ease, with close attention to detail and having a strong interest in the market and product structures

·Advanced Excel with VBA, Python programming skills or of the like

The compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a discretionary bonus and a competitive benefits package.
