The team

The GPS Analytics and Cognitive (A&C) offering is responsible for developing advanced analytics products and applying data visualization and statistical programming tools to enterprise data in order to advance and enable the key mission outcomes for our clients. Our team supports all phases of analytic work product development, from the identification of key business questions through data collection and ETL, and from performing analyses and using a wide range of statistical, machine learning, and applied mathematical techniques to delivery insights to decision-makers. Our practitioners give special attention to the interplay between data and the business processes that produce it and the decision-makers that consume insights.

Work you'll do

The Systems Engineer analyzes, develops, modifies, tests and maintains the system including software patches, builds and upgrades. The Systems Engineer verifies and validates systems and ensures they meet internal and external requirements. This role diagnoses problems and provides recommendations for improvement on existing and new systems. The Systems Engineer should have familiarity with the manipulation of unstructured data in a data analytics environment, be proficient in the use of open-source tools, cloud computing, machine learning and data visualization, and have familiarity with specialized languages relevant to the technologies employed.

These skills will be applied to a mission client team working to provide enterprise level data strategy and management to a federal government agency. This allows for nearly real time data to be provided to the members of this agency and promotes over all mission success, performance and improvement.

Required

• Active Secret clearance OR the ability to gain Secret clearance (US Citizens with clean/ criminal financial backgrounds)
• The ability to work in the US at anytime without sponsorship needed from an employer
• 1+ years of professional experience as a Systems Engineer and/or Integrator
• 1+ year of professional experience working with business and IT systems
• 1+ year of experience with each of the following: open source tools, data visualization and machine learning
• 1+ year of professional experience working in the manipulation of unstructured data
• Willingness to work onsite in Boston fulltime.

Preferred

• Prior government or DOD experience a plus
• Consulting experience is a plus
• Bachelors degrees in a related study heavily preferred
