We are currently looking for a Junior Editor/Sports Writer to join us based remotely out of the state of New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. This full-time role will report into the US-based Content Manager and require some evening and weekend working hours to align with major US sporting events.

We are at a pivotal and exciting point in our company’s journey, and you will be an important part of our US business as we continue to enhance our product to improve our customer experience. As a editor, your prior experience and solid understanding of the US sport betting industry will make you a valuable part of our team. Using your impeccable editing skills, you will edit and upload a diverse assortment of articles to the site each day, as well as help manage onsite operations for our US website. You will use your in-depth knowledge of the US sports betting market to help with the day-to-day content operations that allows OddsChecker to compete and grow in the US market.

As someone with excellent attention to detail, you will ensure that all content pages are functioning properly. You will also be tasked with adding creative introductions to content that will entice users to want to read those articles.

What you will do as a Junior Editor/Sports Writer

• Ensure external handicapper records are up to date and share any hot streaks with marketing team.
• Write reactive sports-betting articles that entice the reader and provide valuable betting insight
• Add creative introductions to articles that will entice users to want to read content
• Assist in managing all freelance contributors
• Help maintain relevant content on US desktop and mobile sites daily by editing and uploading a multitude of betting and editorial articles, as well as optimizing content for SEO
• Constantly review our odds grids to ensure our markets are fully populated
• Monitor breaking news and trending sports topics and be able to target the correct news to convert into betting-centric articles that meet strict SEO requirements for the website
• Ensure featured articles across the site are relevant and fresh
• Work closely with the team to contribute to, and implement, the content plan across the site

What are we looking for

• Impeccable copy-editing skills
• A strong writer with previous experience producing content for established websites
• Significant knowledge of US sports betting industry
• Keen interest in major US sports
