Job Description

Software Engineer

Remote (EST Hours)

Long Term Contract


Brooksource is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Fortune 20 Retail client's Merchandising Technology team. Our client's team develops new applications and APIs (Node and React) and supports legacy applications (Java). You will be working with a balanced team of developers and multiple business units to create modern applications that support business needs.


Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Experience with PCF, GCP or AWS is a plus
  • Experience with Spring framework is a plus
  • Experience supporting servers in a Linux environment is a plus
  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or relevant field is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience with Nodejs, React and Java


Responsibilities:

  • Daily challenge, encouraged responsibility and initiative
  • Take business requirements and develop the total technical design for assigned projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production
  • Enterprise-level, highly visible exposure to new technologies and a variety of business units
  • Responsible for programming and customizing services within applications
  • You will be working in an enterprise-level environment at a Fortune 20 retail organization pair programming in a TDD Agile environment, mentee/mentor opportunities available
  • Ability to work directly with the business and have input on the specifications and requirements on the product that you are developing
