Job Description
Join the Mizuho team as a Junior Security Analyst!
In this role you will be a member of the security operations staff for MAS. You will work closely with other members of the Security Operations and MAS Security teams to actively prioritize day to day operational activities, identify and respond to security risks and incidents, recommend and implement solutions, work with affected departments to address the risk, and ensure that the remedy remains in effect. You must combine hands-on experience with an understanding of theory and practice. Responsibilities include operational aspects of monitoring and remediating security events including working with vendors and other IT departments to address the event and escalating to senior members of the team as necessary.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with SOC, MSSP, and other security vendors
  • Provide first level support on security issues and guidelines from end-users, developers, desktop-support specialists and system administrators
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly security reports for any anomalies or issues
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to existing processes, focusing on automation and integration between other security tools.
  • Maintain documentation on security architecture, procedures, configurations
  • Operational
    • Perform day to day level-1 administration and support of security infrastructure tools and systems, including but not limited to SIEM, IDS/IPS, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, DLP, and other Network or System Monitoring tools

Required Qualifications:

  • Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve security issues
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, solutions, etc.
  • Experience with scripting (Powershell or Python preferred)
  • Ability to perform and interpret vulnerability assessments
  • Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area
  • Knowledge of Linux, Windows, and Virtualization security
  • Knowledge of internet, web, application, and network security techniques
  • 3-5+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Ability to administer the operations of a security infrastructure
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, and other Network functionality
  • Ability to balance and prioritize work
  • Self-driven to learn and develop skills
  • Ability to be organized and very detailed oriented
  • Understanding of security logging, audit logging, and event logging
Additional/Optional Qualifications:
  • Experience working within the Financial Services industry
  • Experience with project management and industry best practices
  • Possess security certifications (CISSP, GCIH, CEH, CCNA)
The expected base salary ranges from $62k-$90k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
