Job Description
Honeybee Robotics has been at the forefront of robotics for over 40 years, establishing ourselves as pioneers in developing novel exploration systems for the most extreme planetary environments. At our Southern California location, we look to "Touch Life" by supporting planetary science, including every NASA Mars rover since Spirit and Opportunity. We aim to "Mine the Sky" through the development of practical In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) solutions. Honeybee Robotics is looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to support the electrical systems development of robotic sample acquisition and handling devices used in planetary exploration. In this role, you will report directly to the Avionics Manager and interface with inter-disciplinary teams in the development of electrical components and avionics systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Support projects through all phases of development: concepts, prototyping, production.
  • Execute test work instructions.
  • Conduct analog and digital circuit debugging.
  • Review test data and recommend changes to products and processes.
  • Perform circuit analysis.
  • Develop and generate work instruction packages for manufacturing and test of circuit card assemblies.
  • Perform electrical evaluation and selection of instrumentation (temperature, pressure, position, etc.).

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

  • Solid circuit theory fundamentals.
  • Familiar with embedded C development.
  • Experienced with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout tool or equivalent.
  • Proficient with using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and LCR meters.
  • BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Detail-oriented with an emphasis on design documentation and test summary report generation.
  • Familiar with Spice simulation.
