Junior Designer - Golf Products and Accessories
Overview:
SWAG® is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Designer to join our Golf Products and Accessories team. The junior designer is responsible for the conception, design and execution of innovative golf products, including golf clubs, bags, headcovers, balls, tees, apparel, and other golf-related accessories under the guidance of a Creative Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and participate in design reviews, presenting concepts to team members and executive leadership
- Keep informed on market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform design decisions.
- Participate in all stages of the design process, from ideation to final production.
- Provide design support for SWAG® in-line products, licensing and cross-team projects
- Thoroughly communicate with both local and remote team members
- Strive for high standard of design and make choices based on brand tone and strategy
- Incorporate changes recommended by leadership into final design
- Self-motivated and willing to do what is needed to contrive to the success of the team
- Be able to follow a brief from concept through execution and manage time efficiently
- Assist in the conceptualization and design of new golf products and accessories
- Collaborate with designers and in-house teams to understand design requirements and product specifications.
Qualifications:
- Passion for golf and understanding of golf culture is encouraged
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, printing techniques, appliqués, and embroidery
- Illustration and Typography skills are a huge bonus
- Detailed oriented with strong organizations skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Graphic Design or related field preferred
- Shows initiative and demonstrates ownership of work
- Strong ability to communicate ideas and decisions in a professional manner
- Driven and hard working with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to think creatively while adhering to brand guidelines
- Is collaborative and can work effectively across all teams and departments, as well as work independently
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign) and presentation software, such as Keynote
- Knowledge of final file preparation and production.
- Meets deadlines with consistency
- 2+ years of relevant experience in graphic design or art direction, preferably at an agency, fashion brand, sporting equipment or consumer goods industry.
- Must provide a portfolio that showcases a wide range of design skills and abilities
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (such as typing, writing, and using a mouse) for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting of product samples may be required.
