4.Job purpose

·To support the Agency in developing data & technology solutions to change knowledge, attitudes and behaviors in target audience groups across the world.

·To use and champion multiple sources of data, best practices and critical thinking to assist multiple client organisations in the pursuit of achieving their objectives.

·Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data

5.Main Accountability

Responsibilities are to:

·Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data

·Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications and programming

·Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations – this may include GDPR from time to time

·Prepare and design reports for management and executive teams on both architecture, as well as regular client reporting

·Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features

·Assisting the Data Team with ad hoc research tasks.

·To provide support and guidance on answering client problems using technology and data

·Support the Measures of Performance (MOP) on projects within the business to support strategy and regularly report on these measures to the Agency and clients.

·Work with a team to deliver MOP reports for project teams

Reporting:

·Reports to the Data Science Director

Situational Awareness:

·Maintain an in-depth understanding of both the commercial and development sector data and technology best practices.

·To understand useful concepts from adjacent industries and how they can be applied to data and technology for example econometrics, strategy, social or similar.

·To maintain a working knowledge of region(s) of interest including changes in data and technology barriers and opportunities.

·Keep up-to-date on data and innovations in target geographical areas as well as emerging platforms and technologies which may be applied.

Also:

·Be prepared to assist outside the stated core responsibilities and be proactive in supporting a small, dynamic project team dealing with daily challenges.

·Be an ambassador for M&C Saatchi World Services.

6.Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

·Ability to develop measure and analyses projects combating some of the world’s greatest problems.

·Knowledge of multiple forms of statistical modelling – both in the development and the subsequent reporting of it.

·To understand modelling best practices from both the commercial and development sectors.

·A firm interest and understanding of geo-politics and International Relations.

7.Core Skills and experience:

Essential:

·Experience of creating and implementing effective data programs for business wide usage

·Knowledge of fundamental techniques, tools and practices of a statistical modelling and data management

·Ability to quickly analyse and process large volumes of data and insight from multiple sources.

·Ability to craft and present simple solutions to highly complex problems (as oral, written and presentation).

·Practical understanding of data extraction, transformation and loading.

·Database management.Must have experience of working with structured (SQL) and unstructured (JSON) data, using multiple tools and coding languages.(Proficiency in cloud-based software programs specifically the AWS and Google Cloud Platform suite, would be desirable).

·Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.

·Excellent oral and written communications skills (English).

·Proficient in all components of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel).

Desirable:

·Experience of working with the Government sector, the international development sector or similar (includes previous or voluntary work).

·Demonstrable liaison skills across the numerous sectors and disciplines (for example ties to academic practitioners).

·Languages are a benefit.

·An understanding of politics/geopolitics, environment.
