Junior Bi Developer Jobs

In order to continually promote and create innovative products that support our vision we are currently seeking a Junior BI Developer in Richmond, VA.

The Junior BI Developer will work under the Program Manager and other Senior BI Developer(s) to develop BI reporting assets for the business (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, etc.). They will also be expected to perform routine data warehouse maintenance and support report tickets received through Swedish Match’s service desk portal.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Business Intelligence Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and control service delivery with a focus on Agile methodologies, business collaboration, and business enablement for Data Analytics.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to identify and implement Business Intelligence best practices.
• Liaise with stakeholders and GIT to enable the use of data for business decision support, and for effective planning and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions.

Consultant Responsibilities

• Deliver well-designed, performance-optimized, adequately commented, testable and efficient code.
• Install and verify solutions and components in development, test, and production environments.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, data & analytics or relevant training experience

EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years of experience with Power BI paginated report and dashboard development, tabular model development
• Experience working with and within virtual or physically dispersed teams preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data & Analytics or relevant training experience
• 2+ years relevant work experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) as a Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing developer.
• 1+ year experience in an Agile organization with a formal Agile methodology (Scrum preferred).
• 1+ year experience with Python data manipulation and plotting libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
• Intermediate to advanced DAX and data modeling skills
• 2+ years of professional ETL experience within Microsoft stack (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, SQL Agent), Snowflake, and familiarity of Azure or AWS

SKILLS:

• Perform analysis, design, development, validation, and implementation of reports.
• Intermediate to Advanced T-SQL skills (knowledge of stored procedures, CTE’s, triggers, indexing, etc.)
• Ability to analyze data issues within reports.
• Ability to implement BI solutions per outlined requirements document.
• Expertise in Data Warehousing (Star and Snowflake schemas), ETL, Modeling, Report design and development.
• Skilled in business acumen, relationship management, business issue/opportunity diagnosis and root cause analysis, project management, solution design, solution architecture, business intelligence, data analytics architecture, change management processes and process improvement.
• Knowledge of various programming languages, such as Python, SQL, and analytical tools, such as PySpark, Databricks, and Snowflake
• Customer-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and a passion to create value for our business through collaboration with customers, consumers, and employees.
• Strong analytical skills.
