Jr Camp Counselor Jobs

Women Just Like Me is looking for creative and energetic summer Counselor ready to work in an environment that focuses on the whole-self of our campers. We are looking for a Camp Counselor who is passionate about mentoring and youth development.

Responsibilities

Camp Counselors are responsible for creating and delivering lesson plans, organize recreational activities for small groups, communicating with parents by providing updates where required and answering questions about the camp. Our organization seeks someone that is capable of managing the schedule and working with our partners and volunteers scheduled to facilitate workshops. Camp Counselors are also expected to guide and motivate campers in participating in group activities.

Qualifications

Course work (education) in social work, psychology or child development preferred.

3+ years working with youth

First aid training to be able to respond to minor injuries or illnesses.

Health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe

Excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors

Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers

Empathy

Criteria

High School Diploma and/ or college transcript

Successfully pass background check

Valid drivers license.
