Journeyman 1 - Carpenter, Upmc Harrisburg

Responsibilities:

• Maintain clean and safe work areas, equipment rooms and shop areas.
• Repair furniture, window, floor or structural and architectural woodwork by measuring, sawing, squaring, fitting, sanding and nailing or other processes where articles require closely fitted parts.
• Responsible for setting up appropriate level of infection control containment (ICRA) based on risk level and maintaining the integrity of that containment.
• The Journeyman - Carpenter will record personal work orders and submit hours to supervisor in a daily basis.
• Perform rough and finished carpentry, i.e. build millwork, and construct casework.
• Operate power woodworking machinery such a lathes, saws, sander, power actuated tools, etc.
• Perform related duties such as repair and install locks, install window glass, cut, fit and cement linoleum, lay resilient tile floors, etc.
• Perform all work following infection control procedures.
• Perform any maintenance work required in which skills can be utilized.
• The Journeyman- Carpenter will construct and maintain structural and architectural woodwork, equipment and fixtures; build millwork, construct casework per print and perform masonry repairs as needed.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years carpentry experience working in a healthcare or commercial building environment.
• Military experience considered.
• Trade school or trade specific multi-discipline certificate required.
