Job Summary

Reports to: Athletic Director\

Summary: Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership for the particular sport.\

RESPONSIBILITIES And ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Support and encourage the philosophy of the Riceville Athletic Department.
• Trains and informs staff and encourages professional growth.
• Coach individual participants for the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
• Maintain necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
• Work closely with the athletic director in scheduling intramural and interscholastic contests.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Establish performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition in the specific sport.
• Plan and schedule a regular program of practice for the season.
• Oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which the assigned sport is conducted, while students are present.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, while establishing and overseeing penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
• The Athletic Director will communicate with the coach start date for practice along with the schedule.
