Job Description
As a Barclays Software Developer AVP, you will be join our Wholesale Lending team to provide technological solutions for the Global Primary Credit and Loan origination business. You will be working colleagues globally to deliver major core platform implementations. Developing solutions using Java, TypeScript and MSSQL technologies, you will contribute to the teams drive for innovation and continuous technological improvement. You will align to quality assurance standards and best practices for development of testable solutions.

What will you be doing?


  • Adopting and extending continuous integration efforts and alignment to broader initiatives within Barclays
  • Supporting business users and diagnosing production issues as necessary
  • Ensuring solutions comply with Barclays quality assurance standards
  • Designing and implementing highly interactive Java/TypeScript based solutions to enhance business productivity
  • Developing Bond and Loan origination applications using a modern service oriented architecture that is compliant with Barclays' security standards
  • Collaborating with Developers, Business Analyst and Project Managers globally


What we're looking for:


  • Knowledge of some or all of the following technologies: Java, JavaScript, MSSQL, ReactJS, Spring, Hibernate, Team City, Sonar, GIT
  • Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, Object Oriented Design and Data Structures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in computing or scientific/numeric discipline


Skills that will help you in the role:


  • Strong skill in Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery and System integration
  • Experience of working in an IT project environment preferably in banking or financial sector


Where will you be working?


You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
