Full-time Employee


Work Location: Remote within Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Montana, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Colorado, or Rhode Island


  • Travel as required for onboarding and developer summits at least twice a year


Hours: M-F 8:30a-5p EST

As a Java Developer, you will play a crucial role in the research, development, and delivery of various technical requirements within our projects. Your contributions will directly impact our success in providing exceptional solutions to our libraries and their patrons.


Primary Duties And Responsibilities


  • Raise thoughts, ideas, and concerns on how to improve operational and technical efficiencies
  • Collaborate with Product Owner and Scrum Master to clarify requirements and deadlines when needed
  • Collaborate with other developers to solve technical problems
  • Contribute to Java software development
  • Perform code reviews
Skills


  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Working experience with the following AWS technologies: Amazon OpenSearch Service, Artifact, CloudFormation, CloudFront, CloudWatch, CodeCommit, EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, ElastiCache (Redis and Memcached), ElasticContainer Registry, ElasticContainer Service, IAM, Lambda, RDS, Route 53, S3, Systems Manager, VPC, WAF & Shield
  • Strong experience with Java 11 & 17
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working experience with Spring and Guice
  • Strong experience with SQL and an ability to write and review SQL queries.
  • Strong experience with GraphQL and RESTful technologies
  • Working experience with Memcached and Redis
  • Working experience with Jenkins or other like CI/CD tools
  • Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies (Node and React)
Preferred Education Requirements


  • Equivalent experience
  • B.S., M.S., in software engineering, computer science, or related area
Preferred Experience


  • Able to work in an agile environment with a focus on continuous integration
  • Minimum 5+ years of developing full stack or backend systems in Java
