Job Description

Cognizant Technology Solutions is currently seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to help identify and build solutions that support our customers Business. Here is the ideal opportunity for you!

The responsibilities will include working closely with various teams passionate about coding in Java technologies.

Primary Skills:
Pre-Requisites: Java, Spring Boot, Maven, Git, SQL.

8+ years of IT experience
Location: Hybrid New Jersey (2-3 days onsite)

Roles & Responsibilities
Analyze and craft major components of java application deployment and implementations.
Translate business requirements and processes into technical requirements and configuration settings specific to software application solutions
Should be able to work as individual contributor as well as in team and co-ordinate with client partners (client managers, SME, Architect, Business) and offshore team.
Deploy and maintain functional secure and high-quality java applications involving multi-functional teams.
Perform application support & maintenance as Technical Support.

Skills:
  • Good Splunk knowledge.
  • Working Knowledge of Monitoring/APM tools like New Relic(NR) or Dynatrace(DT).
  • SQL Tuning.
  • Clear knowledge of Alerting in those tools.
  • Caching
  • Basic knowledge of Chaos Engineering, Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)
  • Multithreading
  • Spring Boot Instrumentation like Micrometer.
  • JVM Tunning
  • In-Memory Preferably.
  • Heap Dump Analysis
  • Thread Dump Analysis
  • Core JAVA
  • CPU, Network, Memory and Disk (I/O) + Tuning "or" profiling
  • GC Tuning/ Garbage Collection Tuning
  • Resource Monitoring/Tuning/Profiling
  • HTTP 2.0 Protocol - Preferably
  • Knowledge of performance metrics APM Tools (NR/DT).
Basic DevOps knowledge, CI/CD etc.


Must Have Skills:
Java 8, Spring Boot, Micro services, Rest API, Open Shift/AWS/PCF, Oracle/Post Gres, JPA/Hibernate

Good To Have Skills
Dev ops, React JS, Java Script, Redux

BS in computer science or equivalent experience.
