Janitor Jobs

Position Summary The Janitor will perform routine custodial activities at Sit 'n Sleep Gardena facility to maintain the building's office and warehouse, in a clean, orderly, and secure condition. Essential Functions

• Integrity and ability to work independently
• Is responsible for general cleaning schedule and keeping cleaning log.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The compensation for this position will be based on relevant prior work experience starting at $18.00 - $18.50 per hour. And will be eligible for benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance and 401k.
• Requires regular twisting/turning/squatting/bending/reaching/lifting and prolonged periods at a stationary/mobile workstation.
• Occasionally perform heavy physical labor.
• Know and apply appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
• Ability to work independently and communicate with a remote team.
• Typical office and inventory warehouse environment. Physical Demands
• Use cleaning materials, equipment and methods according to pre-determined standards.
• Notify the Facilities Lead and Director of any unsafe conditions or concerns, and anything in need of repair or maintenance. Competencies
• Maintain a secure stock of janitorial supplies, monitor usage and notify the Facilities Lead
• Proven working experience as a Janitor or similar field.
• Learn and apply knowledge of the cleaning schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies used in custodial work.
• Observe and report the need for maintenance and repair.
• Maintain tools and equipment signed in clean working order and provide proper security.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery Supervisory Responsibilities
• Keep an organized janitorial closet and supply room.
• No direct supervisory responsibilities. Work environment
• Walk, bend, lift, push and stand for extended periods of time.
• High school diploma, or equivalent Skills and Experience:
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required for this position.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 pounds.
