Job Description

General Summary of Job Duties

The IT System Administrator provides oversight of computing systems used throughout the property and assists with maintaining smooth operations, future expansion potential, reliability, and accessibly of system resources in general. This position is involved with, but not limited to, servers, network components, A/V equipment, PCs, etc. The position also contributes to day-to-day operations of the IT department which involves many different tasks.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Regular attendance to all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future.
  • Arriving on-time for all scheduled shifts is considered an essential function of the job.
  • Maintain a high quality of guest service according to Silverton STYLE.
  • Planning and implementing backup and recovery of network switch and system configuration Performs wiring terminations of network cable.
  • Contacting vendors for technical support
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with guest, fellow Team Members, and Vendors.
  • Follows Gaming Control Board regulations
  • Monitors systems for intrusions, problems, outages, etc. to ensure continued up-time
  • Provides technical direction to meet business needs
  • Enrolling users and maintaining system and network security (secondary)
  • Assists the Sr. Network Engineer and determines technical architectural designs
  • Assists Sr. Network Engineer in deploying and maintaining Business server hard and systems
  • Manages firmware upgrades of the servers and network gear
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Managers.
  • Other duties as needed (secondary)
  • Assists Sr. Network Engineer in maintaining the property network diagram and systems architecture.
  • Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the various systems
  • Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements

  • Familiar with casino, hotel and food and beverage operations preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Experience in Active Directory
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience in system administration
  • Casino Business Applications and Networking Experience preferred
  • Technical background knowledge in all aspects of network, business software support and desktop computing.
  • Knowledge in project management and be familiar with project management programs.
  • College degree in computer science or related field or at least 3+ years of experience in a Network and System support capacity
