JOB SUMMARY
Design, build, operate, and optimize Information Technology infrastructure/platforms including Microsoft Windows Server, shared storage, cloud services, virtualization and Windows-based applications to achieve high reliability, availability and performance of the various systems and technologies supported. This includes but is not limited to designing, deploying, configuring, administering, maintaining, documenting, troubleshooting, and tuning Windows/VMware operating systems and components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner. Support of related components like Microsoft Azure and M365, Active Directory, DNS, and similar services are required.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Infrastructure Operations
  • Manage underlying technologies of the environment including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Storage Area Network components, VMware ESXi/vCenter/vSAN, Azure, Microsoft 365, etc.
  • Review, implement, and track approved changes to configurations, access, and resource allocation across areas of responsibility.
  • Utilize internal work tracking systems like ticketing, project management, etc.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, security, and database administration functions to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems to meet corporate objectives.
  • Monitor and test system performance, provide statistics and reports as required.
  • Recommend and execute modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance, enabling automation where possible and appropriate.
  • Review and deploy service packs, hot fixes, system updates, and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices.
  • Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems within virtualization, shared storage (block and file), Windows Server operating systems, Windows-based applications, and other areas.
Design/Architecture
  • Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements for Microsoft, VMware, and Storage environments throughout the organization.
  • Participate in the design, review, and implementation of new platform, system, and application deployments.
  • Conduct research on hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Ensure that the environment complies with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines, including participation in internal and external audits are required.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and system documentation for use by Windows Admin team, other IT staff, and end users.
Other work
  • Training, vendor management, budget planning tasks, etc.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion monitoring platform
  • Scripting skills using PowerShell, Batch, etc. with a focus on automation.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, decentralized storage and VMware technologies in a global enterprise environment with 24/7/365 operations.
  • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes including change management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with the following skills/experience:
    • Knowledge of ITIL/ITSM processes including change management
    • Experience with ServiceNow platform including ITSM, CMDB, and MID server operation
    • Experience with SolarWinds Orion monitoring platform
    • Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud solutions in a Hybrid configuration with on-premises Active Directory and Exchange
    • Experience with standards including ISO9001, ISO27001, PCI, CIS Controls, etc. including audit response and remediation
  • Having a wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Experience with standards including ISO9001, ISO27001, PCI, CIS Controls, etc. including audit response and remediation
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other technical positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related field preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 cloud solutions in a Hybrid configuration with on-premises Active Directory and Exchange
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform including ITSM, CMDB, and MID server operation
  • Ability to independently conduct research into issues and products as required, including making and justifying recommendations for same.
  • Expert level working knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies including Active Directory (including trust relationships), Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 and later, DNS, DHCP with High Availability, Group Policy, and Windows Server Core, in a global enterprise environment with 24/7/365 operations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation skills in person or via online meeting services.
  • Travel up to 10% domestically/internationally as required
  • Strong familiarity with DNS and TCP/IP networking including routing and switching, and principles of information security including encryption, PKI, and server hardening.
  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • 5+ years directly relevant Information Technology infrastructure/platforms experience in a mid-size or larger environment, plus Microsoft Server technology certifications
  • Experience supporting SQL Server 2016 and later, Exchange 2016 and later, Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, etc) and Azure.

Other Requirements:

The salary range of $107,000 - $180,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
