Raytheon currently has an IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking a System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-aspect and multi-discipline environment. The candidate will need the soft skills to collaborate with a diverse team of individuals from different departments, vendors, and partners. With rapidly changing environments the candidate will have to be able to quickly priorities their actions and be able to quickly think on their feet. Even though the candidate will be working on group projects, they will need to be a self-starter and capable of completing tasks and projects on their own with minimum oversite. They will potentially participate in multi-year projects that will require them to utilize strong documentation, prioritization, and project management skills to get tasks & actions done on-time with a “right the first time” attitude. The work environments will be complex and technically challenging so the candidate will have to have a strong troubleshooting skillset and expertise to “think out of the box” in solving many of the tasks on a weekly basis.

The candidate should have experience in technical areas including Cybersecurity, configuration management, Virtualization Environment Configurations, Windows Server Software & Hardware Environments. They will also be tasked with sustainment work and documentation of system states.

This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories).

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Collaborate with partners to plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of enterprise class systems
  • Respond to server infrastructure requests (e.g. virtual machines, physical, software, storage, compute allocation, and backup)
  • Participate and coordinate with cyber security in server infrastructure vulnerability stabilization and system security plan documentation efforts
  • Collaborate with Service Providers, Enterprise Infrastructure Services, Facilities, and other Raytheon resource teams to ensure the server infrastructure team delivers world class systems
  • Prepare appropriate server infrastructure documentation and operational procedures
  • Coordinate vendor support for refresh and maintenance of server infrastructure systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to work closely with senior technical leaders
  • Strong understanding of VMware and NetApp systems
  • Working knowledge of operating system concepts and implementations
  • Strong customer interaction skills with users of all levels
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience.
  • Understanding in Network Concepts (VLAN, Firewalls, Subnet)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundations
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Experience with vSphere and ESXi virtual computing methods
  • Experience and or advanced knowledge of EMC Networker system principles, and safeguards
  • Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 62,000 USD - 124,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
