Job Description

TITLE: IT NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

The IT Network Administrator will be responsible for the daily maintenance, upgrade, and repair of routers, switches, and configuration settings on the network system. The IT Network Administrator will coordinate and monitor all IT activities related to network administration, and is responsible for the necessary duties as follows:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide support to ensure reliable network operations.

2. Provide technical support to Team Members regarding software concerns, and/or training issues.

3. Maintain, upgrade, and repair all network-related equipment diagnosed with problems or assigned by the IT Director.

4. Maintain, upgrade, and repair all software and hardware being implemented on network related items throughout the environment.

5. Provide daily logs of activities detailing all work related to the assignments schedule.

6. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of the gaming hardware and software used on the network system.

7. Responsible for immediately notifying the IT Director, whether in person or via communications device, of any event that poses security risks in the network environment.

8. Coordinate projects, including network procedures and protocols.

9. Coordinate network installs and upgrades.

10. Audit and update IP addresses on switches and routers within the network environment.

11. Assist all technicians with issues that get escalated.

12. Responsible for monitoring of all RAS (Remote Access Service) connections from sources not contained within the immediate premises.

13. Provide technical support assistance to the Slot Department, should a request be made for diagnostic procedures on gaming equipment directly related to computer operations.

14. Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.

15. All other departmental duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum four (4) years’ of experience maintaining, upgrading, repairing computer-related equipment, and as a technician in a network environment.
  • Minimum age requirement is twenty-one (21).
  • Ability to troubleshoot any issues on the network and servers, configure routers, and switches.
  • Understanding of common networking concepts, including the OSI layers, subnetting, NAT, quality of service, Power over Ethernet, and network admission control.
  • Associates degree in IT, or other related field or experience equivalent.
  • Ability to troubleshoot networking issues and use basic analysis tools, such as Wireshark, TCPDump, and Nmap to support troubleshooting.
  • CCNA or equivalent experience; CCNP (Routing/Switching, Wireless, Data Center, and/or Security) preferred.
  • Able to obtain and retain a gaming license through the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
  • Above average ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair computer problems, ability to comprehend technical material.
  • Ability to install operating system software, Server software, Server applications, system driver software, and application driven software.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL:

1. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and sit.

2. Repeatedly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls to reach with hands and arms.

3. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

4. Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.

5. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

6. Environment is normally in an office setting with occasional visits to the casino floor.

7. Noise level is moderate to high on the casino floor.

8. Exposure to cigarette smoke, ringing bells, and flashing lights when on the casino floor.

9. Must be able to perform all essential duties of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

SUPERVISES: None

HOURS: The casino operates 24/7. Schedule, shift, and hours will vary
